Sushi hunting

Yesterday, I went to Sushi Tei at Gadong Central just wanted to try out their famous dessert since lots of people raving about it. Once I stepped in to the restaurant, there have a typical Japanese restaurant environment. Here is the general overview of the restaurant from where I seat.

Here is the open kitchen where the chef prepares the sushi

Since there are too many fancy menu at Sushi tei which I'm not quite familiar with, so I ended up to order several sushi dishes and not to forget their famous dessert which I'm really excited about.

Chuka Wakame Gunkan $2.20
The taste of this Chuka Wakame Gunkan, nothing fancy or extra ordinary. It just a typical chuka wakame on top and sushi rice below it then wrap it around with the seaweed nori.  However, their Chuka Wakame is quite fresh.

Mini Golden Roll $11.00
The presentation of this sushi is very good, I like how it being garnish. However, I personally don't really like this mini golden roll since the inside of the roll quite dry.

Unagi Tempura $ 12.80
The way they served this unagi tempura is quite simple and accompanied with sauce. I was really amazed with their unagi tempura. Why? because their unagi really really fresh and juicy. They served a very big fat and thick unagi which is a very special thing for me. If compared to Ikura, Sushi tei have the best Unagi tempura and slightly cheaper.

Big Tako Yaki $5.20
I think this takoyaki is over garnished because at first I can't tell what is this dish. Overall this takoyaki was okay for me.

Crunchy Salmon Maki $6.90

This dish is quite spicy and at the same time a bit crunchy, if you are spicy sushi lover why not to try them out.

Salmon Enoki Roll $7.50 *highly recommended*

If we look at this dish, it may not look a very appetizing dish but once you taste this salmon enoki, you would definitely want it more in your mouth. Basically, this dish a well-cooked salmon roll and inside it full of small thin mushroom.

Gyuniku Roll  $10.00  *highly recommended*
This dish is basically the same as the previous one but the only different is that instead of salmon, the mushroom wrapped with beef. This one is also taste really scrumptious.

Eskimo Pino $5.90
Lastly, is the most exciting part that I want to share with you. That's is their famous dessert the Eskimo Pino. It is really mouth-watering dessert. Once this Eskimo Pino are inside your mouth, the chocolate would melt instantly and vanilla filling would conquer the taste which I really like about it. It taste more like a Magnum ice cream but not as sweet as the Magnum ice cream.

Mini beauty haul

This morning, I went to some of my favourite stores to get a few things that I need or to be specific that I WANT.

Here are the things that I bought.

Dove nutrium moisture body wash

First, I went to Winmark to get some body wash even though I still have plenty of body wash that I haven't use up,  but I can't resist to buy these dove body wash because I'm too obsess with these baby. They leave my skin very hydrating after shower and they smell really really amazing too. The body wash is perfect for dry skin as I am because it really keep my skin hydrating all day.

I started using this product since the beginning of the year then I realize that it keep my dry skin very moisturize and it feels very comfy after using the body wash. This body wash comes up with lots of different types such as Shea butter, deep nourishing,  orange etc.

Zinc Hair Fall Treatment

Since I'm almost run out of Shampoo and I didn't have any idea what kind of shampoo to try out then I just grab and smell it at first then I was like Wooo... this stuff smells really cute and sweet. And the packaging says for hair fall treatment and 99% less dandruff. Then I say why I shouldn't just give it a try?

Top:  Made To Stay Highlighter Pen from Catrice
Middle: Superfine eyeliner pen from Essence
Bottom: Kajal Pencil eyeliner from Essence

Then I went to Paloma, to get some unnecessary stuffs of 2 eyeliners and 1 highlighter. Back to the original story I just wanted to get a new pencil eyeliner since I lost my old ones but ended up to buy 2 more needless stuffs which is so typical me.

Talking about the eyeliners, I bought two types of eyeliner which are a pencil and the liquid ones:

Kajal Pencil liner
Kajal pencil liner from essence: 01Black

It says a long lasting eyeliner and the texture a bit creamy.

Superfine eyeliner pen

Superfine eyeliner pen from essence: 01 Deep black

It have a ultra fine line, smudge proof and extra long lasting.

Highlighter Pen

Last thing from Paloma is my highlighter pen, it is in a stick pen form. It says have a creamy texture to brightens and highlights eyes in the inner corners of the eyes and also at the brow bones to lift them up.

Tester for the three products

A-   Superfine eyeliner pen, it is a very intense black as you can tell from the picture if compare to B.

B-   Kajal eyeliner pencil, as you can see it looks a bit creamy and not black enough as B.

C-   Highlighter pen, in the picture it may not be obvious but in real it a bit shimmer and really brighten up.

Okay, my last pits stop was at Body Shop just to get this Mango Eau De Toilette. I'm so in love with the smell of it since I already got the body mist then now I just wanted to get the Eau De Toilette. Seriously guys, I'm in love with this smell it is so so good.

TBT, this is the best fritters that I ever had. It's very juicy and crispy at the same time. The batter is well-prepared and it taste perfectly perfect. I don't need to talk too much about it, overall my mom is the best cook ever.

Chicken Waangs

Hi readers, before I  start  I would like to ask you a simple question. Are you familiar with this packaging?

I decided to steel some times to share with you my first experience of having "Bitesbyida" before I go back to my work life. Now let's go back to the question, for those of you who are not familiar with that packaging. It is a simple packaging trademark from "Bitesbyida".

Last week, I had been surprisingly announced to be a lucky winner of her 1,500 followers in instagram. TBT I didn't know about the lucky followers thingy. Anyways, the prize given was her famous "chicken waangs" 20 cuts of chicken wings. Now are you excited to see how the chicken wings look like?? This is how the chicken waangs look like:

Left: Honey Hot , Right: Mustard Hot.

Left: Asian Hot , Right: Buttery Hot
At first I was too afraid to try these wings because lots of people can't stop giving feedback that the chicken wings extremely spicy yet incredibly delicious. Then I just give it my first bite to the mustard hot wings and so far personally it is not as spicy as I thought. I just like how fleshy and juicy it were. In addition, the sauces are really appetizing.

My top faves out of the four flavours, I would pick the honey Hot chicken wings because the outside (batter) a bit crispy which I like the most and the sauce is too nice for the chicken wings should I say. Not too sweet and not too spicy just at the ideal stage.

My least faves is the Mustard hot since I not a fan of mustard but if you do this might be the perfect flavour wings. Then if you are wondering what flavour are spicy enough it is the Asian hot but for me it is not too spicy though. Lastly, the buttery hot it is taste like "ayam masak Merah" but it is still  taste nice.

Rate: 8/10

I definitely repurchase the chicken wings especially the Honey Hot and soon I would like to try out their famous hot spaghetti. And that's wrap everything up :)

"Thank You Bitesbyida for your scrumptious chicken waaangs"

Le Doux Patisseries

Last two weeks, I went to Le Doux Patisseries to hunt for some cakes since I'm craving for it.

TBT, I really love the packing with the combination of the green and gold colour which creates the elegance look. Once I walked into the shop I absolutely have no idea which cakes I would like to choose since all of the cakes are very fancy looking. Then after the suggestion from the seller I decided to choose three cakes:

Salted Caramel Cheese

Honey Comb *highly recommended*

Opera

Overall, all of the cakes above taste really good but personally I'm in love with the honey comb it is perfect since the honey flavour  wrap everything up which is totally perfect. *thumbs up*. Okay for those of you who are coffee lover you might love this  opera cake. For the  salted caramel cheese it was okay but for me it's too sweet.

Desserts

Tiramisu $4.50 ( If I'm not mistaken)

Chocolate Eclairs $4.50 *highly recommended*

Pink Lady

All of these desserts are from 'Patisserie CakeShop' which located around Beribi same area as Supersave Beribi. Personally, I really like how these desserts tasted because it just nice not to sweet.

The Pink Lady dessert was good not to sweet as I mentioned earlier it tastes just nice or should I say perfect taste? Especially the cream it just melt and soft in my mouth.

The tiramisu was okay but it tastes  bitter at the top but the cream at the bottom it was tasteless.

Lastly, the chocolate eclair: the pastry was perfect and a bit crispy which I like. The chocolate topping also perfect and what's special about this it had more like hazelnut feeling inside it which make it a superb dessert.

All of the above, my first fave is Chocolate Eclair and followed by Pink Lady.

What's for today

Fried Tomato Rice Kampong $5.50

Very cute like a fish-shaped fried rice and accompanied by simple garnishing. I'm quite disappointed with this food because in the menu it states fried rice with fried egg on the top and fried chicken wing.

Then at the end it comes with not as what I expected and it cost 5.50 just for fried rice??But it's okay unfortunately I like the fried rice. I would rate this 6.5/10.

From left: Apple lush, Garden Mint, Oceanic $3 each

I'm quite excited to share these beverages with you guys because these drink taste absolutely nyum-nyum and what's surprise me was that these drink are only $3 which is quite cheap right for these kind of drinks.
Say Cheese pizza

Mix of peanuts and nutella waffles *highly recommended*
These two nyuummy foods can be found at Brunswick snackstation Jerudong Park Food court. The waffles were very crispy which I really loves about it. The pizza was okay don't wanna say too much about it since I'm not a huge fan of cheese but I think if you are a cheese lover you might love this pizza. :)

By the way, the cinnamon rolls taste good too and next time I would like to try their "baked herb chicken" and the "pepperoni and tuna melts thin crust pizza" I heard it tastes good too.

Calamari Rings $4.50
There's not much to talk about this food it taste just like other ordinary calamari rings. This calamari rings are at Hot Point Gadong Mall.

Hati Buyah Sup

Nasi Ayam Penyet
Nasi Ayam Penyet and accompanied by hati buyah sup are very perfect combination in this hot sunny afternoon for my very early dinner. I don't know what's the name of this restaurant even though I used to have my breakfast and lunch there since I was a kid. So unbelievable right? But yeah, I love the dishes there. <3 Oh...anyways before I forgot this restaurant is located at Kg. Sungai Kebun just in front of Awg Semaun Secondary School.

I love foods

Yesterday, My friends and I decided to go to CAM restaurant at BSB for our brunch since it was already 11+am but for us it was our breakie..hahaa. It's located at Yayasan building at 2nd floor.

The great thing about this restaurant is that, they have the breathtaking view of SOAS mosque. As you can see from the picture above.
Menu of CAM restaurant
Roti Canai crispy 0.80cents
Dips of Roti Canai
This is what I had for my brunch and I personally love the dips. <3 Then after doing our interview at the head village of Kota Batu then we stop by at Farm basket snack barrestaurant at Kiulap to have our early high tea at 2.30pm since we didn't know where else  to go. Then we think about 'EAT and FOODS'.

Cover menu of Farmbasket and snackbar restaurant

Nachos Supreme $4.50

Tuna Teriyaki

Meatballs spaghetti $6

French Fries with Mayonnaise Dips $2.50
If you are looking for a restaurant for high tea this might be the best place for you since they served lots of light meals and snacks. More over, they price range are very affordable.

Our leftover foods
Now, at the end our tummy cannot take in the foods anymore. It's ended up with food wasting :( which is not good at all.

Birthday lunch: Ikura Sushi Restaurant

After did some research of sushi restaurants in Brunei (since we are the sushi lovers) then my boyfriend and I decided to go to Ikura sushi restaurant to celebrate his birthday.

Some of the overview pictures of the restaurants:
Very vintage look of their mini pots
 Very calm and relaxing place

The cutest cover menu that I have ever seen in Brunei.
Since this was my first time to Ikura sushi, we didn't have any ideas what foods to order then we ended up to order 8 several sushi dishes which as you can see the pictures below:

Hotate Teppenyaki

Unagi Inari
Unagi Tempura

Mango Smoothies

Four layers rose

Most of the foods I can't remember the name and the price of it.

My fave of the above menu is the unagi tempura since I'm a huge fans of Unagi but it taste really nice and it gives you a perfect taste with the sauce provided. So for those of you who are in unagi fans club so this Unagi Tempura are highly recommended. My least fave from the above menu is the Unagi Inari since its too sweet.

However, the foods are really nice and the employees are very nice and very friendly too.
